I’ve not updated my blog for so long…with a baby due any day now and lockdown bringing the renovations to another halt I’ve been a little distracted. But during our time at home we have been busy re working our upstairs rooms and now we have a new home office! I’ve already shared the room over on instagram but I thought I’d link the items here for a ‘shop my style’ post.
Our office is now in the smallest room of the house and so it needed to be functional but uncluttered with a good amount of storage. It’s the one room we haven’t touched since moving in so it was your standard new build magnolia box!
We already had the desk in our previous office space and had created a little diy hack so it would also hold a keyboard on a pull out shelf! The post of our previous home office is linked here.
The desk is the Ikea Malm
It seems they no longer do this style in the black/brown, but here is a great alternative, or here is a perfect option for a smaller desk.
The chair was a dining chair Homesense find. They always have great options, it’s worth checking TKMaxx too. I’ve found a very similar chair online here.
The crystal based lamp was from BHS a while back (gifted), they no longer sell it but very similar is linked here.
The three walls are painted in a Valspar colour match of Farrow and Balls ‘Ammonite’ and the back wall is a beautiful textured wallpaper that I found while sourcing for the renovation house. It is by Grandeco Wallfashion and part of their Opus collection (gifted). You can source a local supplier from their website or find it online here. It comes in many different colour ways!
We found a solution to our storage problem in the Ikea Billy bookcase. We opted to get two pieces which we could join together, the larger linked here and the smaller here. Then we added the Oxberg doors to the lower half to hide away all the essential clutter and chose to leave the upper half open.
The ceiling lamp shade was a budget friendly option from The Range. I opted to go oversized and love how the texture of the shade was perfect to compliment the wallpaper.
These Ikea baskets are great for styling and perfect for keeping stationary at hand but out of sight! I love having the open shelves to add some character with decorative accessories. I just shopped our home and pulled together some magazines, vases, coral and painted books.
The minimal line print is from Chelsea Prints and comes as a set of two (gifted). This one was the perfect finishing touch for what I needed to style up the shelves.
And that is our small but perfectly functional home office! I plan to add some artwork to the walls yet; maybe some abstract art or some framed sea fan. What do you think?
